about

hi! i'm von (he/him), it's nice to meet you <3i'm a career community organizer, recovering overachiever, and lifelong member of various fandoms. i'm passionate about cultivating community spaces, both online and in person, that are rooted in collective joy.i am an emergent author, focused on uplifting the intersections of queer/trans masculinity and Asian diasporic identity through poetry and speculative fiction. i focus on themes of surrealism, queer sexuality, existentialism, and optimistic nihilism. i hope to tell stories that don't shy away from the horrors, but allows us to find the light within them.some of my primary literary influences are james baldwin, octavia butler, Ursula K. Le Guin, haruki murakami, Victor Fernando R. Ocamp, Hiroko Oyamada, and neil gaiman; as well as the many incredible creatives i share community with every day.all of my endeavors work toward the goal of unifying those of us at the margins through exploring our creativity and cultural consciousness. whether it's helping organizations reach their communities, facilitating professional development workshops, writing for myself and others, or chatting about my favorite properties with my friends on my podcast, i seek to connect us to each other and to ourselves.when I'm not trying to change the world, you can almost always find me at a local coffee spot, at a pop punk or kpop concert, or pedaling it out at a spin class.

if you like my work and would like to support me, you can do so directly with my ko-fi link! it's not expected, but deeply appreciated <33
